BACKPACKS HEADED TO LOUISIANA

Just after Katrina hit, The Village School of Gaffney collected school supplies for the children on the Gulf Coast that were devastated by Katrina. Each class collected supplies and packed them in a backpack. The backpacks are being loaded on Broad River Baptist Association Disaster Unit that is leaving with a team of men going to Louisiana to cut trees from homes and clean up yards for those that are not able. The men will be taking the backpacks to a local school to be given to the most needy students. Pictured are Matthew Overton, ShaQuille Allen, Benjamin Karriker, Brett Hamrick, Lydia Lemmons, Mackenzie Wallace, Hatcher Geary and Macy Gault.
This is about when I made my first visit to Lakeshore, Mississippi ~ Gloria :-)
